The Facts You Need Before Playing New World

Before you delve into New World, this advice might be useful to you.

New World has a lot to offer every MMO fan in its own way. You could argue that it offers a more immersive experience compared to some of its counterparts, which can also mean that it can be hard to get your head around. Before you go ahead and set up a New World account for the first time, we have some advice that could come in handy.

Exploring the New World

Taking the time to trek around New World might seem like a bit of a grind. This is especially true when you consider the fact that unlike other MMO titles, there are no mounts available. We aren’t going to be venturing to other websites to buy New World gold for the sake of a flying beast that can whizz us back and to.

There is the option of fast travel, but it is a fairly complicated to use. You will only be able to travel to settlements that you have visited before, though there is a workaround of sorts. By visiting inns, you can then potentially travel between them through this instance. With that in mind, make sure that you are visiting the inns that are nearby settlements. With the option to retreat to an inn as well, you can get yourself out of tough situations too.

Asides from the likes of New World coins, you also have a resource that comes from finishing quests known as Azoth. Fast travelling uses up Azoth, so only use fast travel if you really need to. By avoiding fast travelling everywhere, you will be able to explore the surrounding areas more. This gives you the chance to find valuable supplies from crates and chests, which can really help with crafting in particular.

Companies and Factions

The very nature of an MMO is to join up with fellow players. The way in which New World encourages this is by using companies. After you have joined your faction, you should join up with members of the same faction to find a company. Which one is best for you will be determined by what you want to get out of it, so choose wisely.

You’ll get access to factions when you reach level 8. The Covenant, Marauders and Syndicate all have something to offer, and it’ll be up to you to make the right choice.

Crafting

Speaking of crafting, this is something you should be focusing on. If you have already started playing New World, you’re likely to have spotted the emphasis on using camping features, or preparing food. Part of this is crafting, which is going to have an effect on all of the professions throughout the game.

Sure, it is going to sound tedious on the surface. But progressing through the game whilst chopping trees or getting materials for completing quests can really go a long way. What’s more, you can make your gathering efficiency go even further thanks to crafting. The tools that you make at crafting stations really will make your experience easier. It isn’t going to seem like it when you are spending all your time looking for crafting components. Even so, you don’t have to dedicate yourself solely to it. Work it in as you progress through New World and you’ll be fine.

Mastering Combat

One of the most important factors to consider before playing New World is the combat. This is one aspect that really makes the game stand out from other MMO titles, opting for more of an ARPG approach to how combat works. You do get a tutorial, but this won’t teach you everything that you need to know.

There is a lot of emphasis on defence in New World. If you’re going to survive, then you need to make sure that you are practicing blocking and dodging. You will often find yourself alternating between the two when facing several enemies at once. Timing is key, as you’ll find the right moment to evade an attack and go on the offensive. Keep a close eye on your stamina, as you’re only going to be able to dodge for so long. Managing your stamina is essential if you want to survive any battle.

New World certainly has a lot to offer any MMO fan. There will be times in which you should save your New World items or take a step back to figure out what your plan of action should be. Once you get over the learning curve of combat, crafting and salvaging, you should be good to get started.
